Free the Witch - F2P Game

Free the Witch was a project in Eipix Entertainment, a F2P M3 game. I've worked in the Tech Artist capacity which incorporated:
1. game assembly
2. level design
3. shaders
4. VFX (custom engine)
5. 2D animations of characters and environment

Ghost: tough fella to properly animate. Had to cut it into multiple layers, Spine back in the day couldn't parse different blending options nor masking. The toughest part - cloth animation.

Combining 2D background with 2D character (gnome with an airship), allowing movement across the board.

Huge PSD, cut into many smaller pieces, then optimizing their usage, size, saving every pixel when and where possible. Typical day in life of game assembler/tech artist. And then creating VFX for portal using only basic graphics, tinted and alfa-adjusted.

Cut the shield in such a way that you can't see that there are pieces before the witch breaks it apart - big challenge, a lot of feathering where and when needed. And then layering so that Spine character can "pass through it".

If I had a dollar for every time I've used that cloud graphics - I would be rich :D
